Vineyards Country Club has announced the recent completion and opening of a standalone wellness center and spa within the community.
“Our incredible new resort-style Wellness Center and Spa is a significant addition to our culture of lifelong wellness at Vineyards Country Club,” said Paul Malonson, Vineyards Country Club General Manager. “As a Blue Zones program-approved community, we consistently strive to offer healthy choices and encourage connection and socialization as a part of everyday life.”
The 15,000 square foot Wellness Center and Spa, located moments from the community’s clubhouse, offers a variety of amenities and services to promote well-being. The Life Fitness showroom facility provides an atmosphere conducive to a comfortable and personalized workout experience, with wellness programming, cardiovascular and strength training equipment; personal training, small group training and fitness classes, and Café V, a Blue Zones-approved café serving healthy shakes, smoothies and healthy menus to accommodate all palates.
The accompanying spa facility offers services such as massage therapy treatments, body treatments and facials by Naturopathica; a couples spa suite; a private manicure and pedicure boutique; full service salon and makeup studio; men’s barbershop services; halotherapy salt room; locker rooms with dry sauna and whirlpool; and a heated, outdoor saltwater half-Olympic size lap pool.
The Wellness Center and Spa is led by Director Laura Lorusso, a member of the facility’s initial planning and development team with more than 20 years of experience in the spa and fitness industry. A licensed aesthetician and award-winning makeup artist, she has opened, managed and developed some of southwest Florida’s most prominent spa and fitness locations, including the 10,000 square foot wellness center at the Hilton Marco Island Beach Resort, as well as the region’s premier spa educational facility, Sunstate Academy (spa program) in Ft. Myers. Lorusso previously worked with Eminence Organic Skincare as a Southwest Florida regional trainer, and has received national awards for body art and makeup. She works to maintain a culture of wellness for the members of Vineyards Country Club and oversees a full calendar of events promoting lifelong health and learning.
The facility’s fitness programming is highlighted by a physical therapy department provided by Naples Rehabilitative Services and led by Clinical Director and Physical Therapist Brent Van Gemert, MPT, SCS, CSCS. A Naples native, Van Gemert has a master’s degree in physical therapy and a bachelor’s degree in nutrition from the University of Florida. A certified strength and conditioning specialist, he is a board-certified Sports Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and is a certified Emergency Medical Responder. Van Gemert has worked as a physical therapist in Naples for the last 15 years, working with athletes of all ages and levels and specializing in soft tissue management, joint replacements, post-operative arthroscopic surgery, and conservative care of other orthopedic pathologies.
