Students from Quest for Success, a non-profit college preparatory organization, presented a strong presence at Collier Harvest 2016, held in May.

This year marked the 24th anniversary of the national Association of Letter Carrier’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, and the 10th year Quest students and staff have participated in the event.

More than 60 Quest students were on hand to unload, sort and box donated food for distribution to charitable organizations across Collier and southern Lee Counties, including Grace Place, St. Matthew House and the Shelter for Abused Women and Children.

“Quest has a deep history of volunteerism in Collier County.” said Susan Zumstein, Executive Director at Quest for Success.  “Collier Harvest is particularly close to our hearts,” she said. “Our students worked tirelessly in 90 degree heat to help those in need,” she continued. “Once they volunteer at the event, they are hooked. Quest’s own Kevin Padro-Estevez, a 2015 Quest graduate and pre-med freshman at the University of Florida, has participated at Collier Harvest for the past four years and came back from UF to participate. That’s dedication,” Zumstein said.

Quest students also participated in Chalk Art 2016, an annual art extravaganza, sponsored by the Bonita Bay Rotary, held on Fifth Avenue.

Collier Harvest has delivered millions of pounds of food to over 60 local social service agencies that serve the needy citizens of Collier County, Florida.

Quest is a community-based organization providing highly personalized and effective methods for students to access and pay for most college. Quest began with 10 students in 1993 and currently serves over 340 diverse students from Collier County public and private schools. Quest’s mission is to foster economic freedom through education by empowering high school students to reach their highest career potentials through lifelong learning.
