Wilson Creative Group (WCG), a full-service advertising and marketing agency, garnered five awards in the 2020 Advertising Federation of Southwest Florida (AAF-SWFL) ADDY Awards competition at a ceremony in Fort Myers on Saturday, February 20.

The firm received a gold ADDY award and a Best of Print ADDY award for its work for magazine advertising (Iconic Ad Evolution Campaign, Collins DuPont Design Group).

WCG took home three silver ADDY awards for Best B-to-B Website (CoreHotelsAndResorts.com, Core Hotels & Resorts), Best Brochure (New Homeowner Brand Brochure, Diamond Custom Homes) and Pro Bono Brand Elements (Pro Bono Logo Package, Little Black Dress Catering Co.)

“We salute our industry peers for navigating the pandemic and thriving during one of the most tumultuous years in history,” said WCG President and CEO Peggy Wilson. “Here at WCG, every member of our team played a significant role in identifying, achieving and surpassing our client’s goals. Receiving some recognition for great work makes all of our days a bit brighter.”

Wilson adds, “As a small business, we are especially proud to be recognized for our pro bono work creating powerful brand elements for Little Black Dress Catering Co.” In June, WCG announced a free logo package giveaway designed to help a deserving local company. Contestants submitted 250-word statements on their missions, needs and goals. The winner was Leslie Rist, a retired schoolteacher and school administrator starting her own business—Little Black Dress Catering Co.

The annual ADDY Awards competition is open to advertising agencies, public relations firms, communications firms and industry-related suppliers with clients in Southwest Florida.

The American Advertising Awards, home of the ADDY® Award, is one of the industry’s largest creative competitions, attracting nearly 35,000 professional and student entries each year through competitions offered through local AAF clubs. The mission of the American Advertising Awards is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in advertising.

Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the local Ad Club phase is the first of a three-tier, national competition. Concurrently, all across the country, local entrants vie to win ADDY Awards – recognition as the very best in their markets. At the second tier, local ADDY winners compete against winners from other local clubs across Florida and Caribbean Islands in the AAF-Fourth District competition. District ADDY winners are then forwarded to the third tier, the national stage of the American Advertising Awards.
