Vineyards Country Club to add outdoor functional fitness facility
Vineyards Country Club officials recently announced plans to add a 1,200 square foot outdoor circuit training facility located adjacent to the community’s award-winning, 15,000-square-foot Wellness Center and Spa.
“We are very pleased to introduce continued improvements within Vineyards Country Club,” said Vineyards Country Club General Manager Paul Malonson. “This great new training area will offer a multitude of additional fitness and training options in a safe, hygienic setting suitable for our member athletes of all ages.”
Initial site preparation, including ground and landscaping work, for the project is scheduled to begin early this summer with full completion slated for August. According to club officials, the project will make Vineyards one of the only country clubs in Naples to feature an outdoor fitness training facility.
Vineyards Country Club will serve as a functional training facility. Its fitness instructors will utilize the facility to specialize in small group training, one-on-one training, outdoor yoga, and balance and circuit classes. These types of programs will be offered throughout the year, but especially focused on high season usage throughout the months of December through May, when southwest Florida’s weather is most conducive to outdoor training.
The facility will be constructed from galvanized steel anchored into the ground. The structural elements will include TRX™, or total body resistance, training equipment made with Kevlar, as well as urethane coated kettlebells and dumbbells, and vinyl-covered resistance bands, all designed to provide maximum weather proofing and outdoor usage. The floor surface of the training facility will consist of eco-friendly, recycled permanent poured-in-place elastic surfacing made from ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM). EPDM granular rubber surfaces are high-quality, weather-resistant, low maintenance and durable surfaces used in other outdoor fitness facilities and playgrounds in more than 60 countries across all continents.
In 2019, the design and construction of Vineyards Country Club’s 15,000 square foot, standalone Wellness Center and Spa was completed by contractor Premiere Builders. The facility, recipient of the Collier Building Industry Association’s 2019 Sand Dollar Award for Interior Design of the Year, includes a variety of amenities and services to promote lifelong well-being. The South Florida Hospitality Industry Network (NEWH) also honored the project with its 2019 Golden Palm Award for excellence. The facility provides a comfortable and personalized workout experience, with wellness programming, cardiovascular and strength training equipment by Life Fitness; personal training, small group training and fitness classes. Café V, a Blue Zones-certified café, serves healthy shakes, smoothies and healthy menus to accommodate all palates. The Wellness Center also offers a physical therapy department with customized services provided by Naples Rehabilitative Services. Complimentary to the fitness and wellness programming, the resort-style spa offers services such as massage therapy treatments, body treatments and facials by Hydropeptide; a private manicure and pedicure boutique; full-service salon; men’s barbershop services; halotherapy salt room; men’s and ladies locker rooms with dry sauna and salt whirlpools; and a heated, outdoor saltwater half-Olympic size lap pool.
