Employee Trust purchases iconic Dockside Shoppes near Tin City
The Shoppes at Dockside LLC has acquired four mixed-use commercial buildings located at 1100 6th Ave. South in the Tin City area.
The group purchased the 22,000-square-foot property, which includes a mix of office, retail and restaurant space, on March 12. The property is currently 33% occupied by Mino Italian Pizzeria, The Parrot Bar and Grill, and other tenants.
According to the ownership representative Clayton Coleman, the previous owner had plans to raze the property and redevelop it into condominiums.
“When we learned this, we thought how terrible it would be to tear down such an iconic part of Tin City,” said Coleman.
Realizing its notable influence and continued future potential, the employee trust decided to purchase the property and, in return, renovate it for lease to local retailers.
“We bought this nostalgic property to rescue it from demolition,” said Coleman. “We plan to restore it and lease it to unique local businesses.”
The Shoppes at Dockside LLC is managed by Clayton Coleman and Bonnie Reams. The partnership acquired the downtown Naples property, with buildings dating to 1984, from the Brookline Companies, LLC., who bought the property in 2017 for $4,550,000.
The new owners also own The Shoppes at Vanderbilt in North Naples and, over the last 11 years, have leased space to more than 85 local businesses.
The Shoppes at Dockside is actively seeking tenants for the property. For information, call 239-776-9803 or email leasing@shopvanderbilt.com.
